First National Bank building

The 1907 bank at the head of Main Street, closed in the Depression and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in March 2023.

Built in 1907 and run as the First National Bank of Elizabeth until the Great Depression closed it in the early 1930s, the building at 188 South Main is the anchor of the historic block. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in March 2023 and celebrated with the town that May. It now holds a business rather than a bank; look at it from the street.
